InterRail timetables
Most European railways have a website where you can consult train schedules and platform information. Sometimes you can even make reservations online. Departure schedules and platforms are posted at all train stations. At larger ones, computerised boards provide up-to-the-minute information. On the platforms, you will also usually find displays confirming the next train's departure time and destination.
International timetables
There are various good online timetables you can use to plan your train journeys in Europe. Examples are the international route planners of the the Deutsche Bahn and the Belgian SNCB.
You can also use the planner of the Austrian railway ÖBB with the form below:
The timetable will open in a new window.
National timetables
The European planners list all main trains. All local trains can be found in the national railway planners. Therefore, if you are planning to travel beyond the large cities, it might be useful to check the national railways' planners.
